IGS Attends Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025, Islamabad

IGS attended the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025 (PMIF) in Islamabad on 8th – 9th April. It was a privilege to witness the exciting developments in Pakistan’s mineral sector. One of the highlights was the presentation of the world-class mining project, Reko Diq, by Mark Bristow (Barrick Gold Corp.) along with related panel discussions.

Peter Zawada participated in the panel discussion titled “Mapping the Future – The Role of Established National Geological Surveys & Lessons for Emerging Economies”. He also delivered a presentation on “Modern Government-held Geoscience Data – A Prerequisite for Exploration Investment Decisions”.

Of particular significance was the exchange of agreement between IGS and the Geological Survey of Pakistan (GSP) regarding Quality Assurance and Technical Advisory Support in Nationwide Geological Mapping. IGS will assist GSP in completing their 1 in 50 000-scale accelerated geological mapping program for the country. IGS is looking forward to collaborating with GSP on this important project for the nation.

The PMIF was a great success, well organised and we extend our gratitude to the organisers and the staff of GSP for making IGS feel so welcome.
